Amplify Client Story: Sarah Clarke

Problem: I already had an evergreen group programme but my lead generation wasn’t great.

Result: Shifted niche to solve a bleeding neck problem, created a new uplevelled programme with an incredible community and enrolled 9 clients.

“Going through Amplify has been so much more than a group programme programme.

It’s been a level up in my mindset, how I approach marketing and sales. How I think of myself as a business owner. It has been like a business mentoring programme, not just a group programme programme”

Before working with Gemma…

I came into Amplify with a group programme already, however I knew my lead generation wasn’t very good so I wanted to join Amplify for the marketing aspect. I really liked Gemma’s style and approach and wanted to understand your formula for how enrol clients consistently.

My hesitations were…

I felt I didn’t need the group stuff! I just wanted to learn the marketing and sales.

My current group programme served a nice to have niche rather than something my ideal clients really needed.

Sarah’s Key Points

  • I already had an evergreen group programme so I wanted to join Amplify for the marketing aspect. But on joining, I realised I could completely uplevel my programme and make it so much better. It was a big wake up call as I realised I needed to re-write the whole thing and start again.

  • I realised my niche was a “nice-to-have”. So I created a new programme and focussed on making the outcome far more tangible so it was easier to sell.

  • I had nine people join the first cohort in May and my next enrolment is in October.

  • Biggest learning for me persistence and resilience. I think previously I’ve been a bit like “Well, I’ve done all the things I could possibly do to generate leads and make my sales calls better”. I’ve learnt that playful creativity that comes with just trying something out. Brainstorming in the group and thinking, “What else can we try?” and “Have you tried this?”. It doesn’t matter if it doesn’t work. I’m very experimental with the coaching I was doing with my own clients, but I don’t think I was necessarily applying it to my own business.

  • The power of the group is the nuance of the conversation. You can do the foundational stuff when you start a business like basic marketing, basic sales, basic messaging, but the nuances that we get into in those conversations are very stimulating.

  • It feels more like a mastermind environment for me because we’re really getting into the nth degree of tiny little turns of phrase you use in an email or whether you’re speaking to someone who knows you - or who is too soon, too late or just right for your service. That will change the complete approach you take to your messaging. It’s deepened my knowledge of how I can grow a great business.

  • I really genuinely enjoy the group sessions we have every week - they are a highlight of my week. They motivate me, give me loads of ideas. It gives me that momentum.

  • My key takeaway - hold it lightly. It doesn’t matter. If it doesn’t work, try something else. Constant pivot, experimentation, iteration piece.

What are you looking forward to next?

I’m excited about enrolling more people into my new programme. I’m getting clearer on my niche and I’m starting to become known for it. I’m really proud of the community I’ve created and so I feel like there’s a movement brewing.

Who would you recommend Amplify to?

Anyone who’s thinking about starting a group programme or has toyed with the idea but never done it properly. There’s so much to gain even if you feel like you know it all.

What should others know about Gemma?

Gemma has a lovely manner - she’s very anti-hustle too. It’s not grim or sleazy. It’s not pushy. It’s very authentic, which is why I felt it aligned with my style.

When I started working with Gemma I felt really rubbish as I didn’t know how I could ever create something as good as Gemma has with Amplify. But she’s so generous with her knowledge and approachable. So 100% just go for it.
